Description: Endothelial Interleukin-8 (IL-8) is an 8.9 kDa protein containing 77 amino acid residues. It promotes neutrophil chemotaxis and degranulation. The 77 amino acid IL-8 is the predominant form secreted by endothelial cells.

Formulation: lyophilized

Biological Activity: IL-8 produces chemotaxis over a concentration range in an assay using human peripheral blood neutrophils. Significant chemotaxis was achieved using a concentration of 25-150.0 ng/ml.

Reconstitution: The lyophilized IL-8 is soluble in water and most aqueous buffers. The lyophilized powder can be reconstituted in water to a concentration of 100 μg/ml. Do not vortex! This solution can be diluted into other buffered solutions or stored at -20°C for future use.

Stability: The lyophilized IL-8, though stable at room temperature, is best stored desiccated below 0°C. Reconstituted IL-8 should be stored in working aliquots at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Usage: Human IL-8 is offered for research use. Not for drug use. Not for human use.
